Vander Linden
Mark Vander Linden is Executive Officer of the Office of Gambling Treatment and Prevention at the Iowa Department of Public Health. In this capacity he oversees all problem gambling services for the state including treatment, prevention, workforce development, social marketing and evaluation. Additionally he frequently provides consultation to government, industry, the media at a state and national level. He holds board or key positions with many related organizations including the Association of Problem Gambling Service Administrators, Midwest Consortium on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse and the Addiction Transfer Technology Center. He received a BA from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in Social Welfare from University of California, Berkeley. Mark has a wide range of clinical social work and administrative experience working with children and families, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and problem gambling.
